With over 20 years of experience in quilting, Nancy discovered a deep passion for the art of quilt-making that inspired her to share that joy with others. In 2011, she established Bow Bench Retreat on her family’s farm near Carseland, a peaceful day retreat facility where she teaches classes and hosts sew days for quilting enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Nancy’s passion for Foundation Paper Piecing started 15 years ago when she became a Certified Instructor with Judy Niemeyer, and continued when she trained to become a Gem Affiliate with MJ Kinman, Quilt Artist in 2017. Nancy is also excited to have recently trained with Legit Kits to become a Certified Instructor.
“ Easy Rider” was Nancy’s first Legit Kit project inspired by the Harley Davidson motorbike she owns with her husband, the obsession continued with Legit Kit’s “Little Coffee” quilt as coffee is another one of her passions. Nancy is excited to represent Legit Kits and their products, the patterns are extremely well done and designed for all levels of quilters.
Along with hosting workshops and classes at Bow Bench Retreat, Nancy loves to travel to teach for guilds, quilt shops, and creative groups, bringing her expertise and enthusiasm for quilting to a wider audience.
Nancy is dedicated to empowering her students by fostering a supportive and patient environment. Her gentle teaching style encourages creativity, allowing students to confidently explore new techniques and deepen their quilt making skills. She takes great pride in helping others on their quilting journey, whether they’re creating their first quilt or tackling more advanced projects.
